Welcome to our WWE2K22 review, 72 hours later edition.

WWE 2K22 is available for most platforms. I’ve had this game for the last 72 hours. I bought the NWO edition which meant I got it on March 8th at midnight. First of all, It was not that bad of a download, to be honest but I’m on a high speed Internet so I’m a little biased here. So without further ado, here’s your WWE 2K22 review!

Second, we already put up our first impressions of WWE 2K22 review. We gave it a 5 out of 10 stars, because it’s a good game, but I would you rather wait until the game goes on 50% discount as it does on Black Fridays and around WrestleMania. It’s leaps and bounds better than WWE2K20. I enjoyed uninstalling that game off my computer by the way. 

Is WWE 2K22 better than WWE 2K19?

Before I answer that question, I think it’s super important for everybody to understand that 2K19 is a game like none other. It has probably one of the best rosters ever. It plays perfectly. Its playability is high to this day. Four years later I can go pick up that game and still play for an hour before I get bored. That’s how good that game is, so that’s what this game is going to get compared to now. The tagline of WWE 2K22 is that it hits different. I would put an * and say it hits different, about 40% of the time.

the rest of the time the game feels a little underwhelming to be honest with you, the control updates that they’ve made is actually pretty good. Very intuitive. I’m really interested to see where the game goes next year. It does remind me a little bit of WCW Mayhem with the way the controls work and the way the characters move. Interestingly enough, that game came out almost 20 years ago.

WWE 2K22 is not a bad game and I think that’s the takeaway here. I think it’s a game you’ll eventually own, and you should eventually own it because it is fun to play from time to time. Now, is it worth the $125.00 that I paid for it? Absolutely not man. Just wait.

GM Mode is missing undercard titles and you will miss them!

And the main reason is it’s a good game. But throughout the whole time you feel a little underwhelmed and I’ll give you a good example. The GM mode captured me for about 7 hours straight. I was really into it. It was actually a lot of fun. But around our eight I started missing not having any other titles available, especially for the undercard, especially for the tag team, since the GM mode is constantly trying to get you to put on tag team matches. It was underwhelming there. The overall roster is a little underwhelming. To be absolutely honest with you, it feels like there’s a lot of big characters missing because they’re in AEW or got released, etc. 

It feels underwhelming all the way around like it could have been such a good game. For example, all that money and all that time in two years of development to upgrade all the graphics, but they couldn’t add a double belt entrance. And I know that’s not a big deal to a lot of people for this old timer though it is.

I’ve been buying WWE video games on day one since they’ve been releasing for the past 20 years. I’ve bought basically every video game that is WWE related ever? And I will be honest with you, this is the one that I will say I should have waited on. It kind of gives me the WWE2K18 vibe. I would definitely say just wait.

Final Thoughts on WWE 2K22 Review

It’s a good game, it does look cool. Brock Lesnar looks really cool. Bret Hart looks cool when you were wrestling with him. So does Kevin Nash.

But at the same time, though, it’s lacking and I think that’s the best word for it. Give it a try if you don’t believe me, but I guarantee you if you listen to this review, you buy the game within a week, you’re going to think exactly what I’m thinking.
