We know we print t-shirts and since you are trying to figure out how to start a clothing line, we should be telling you you need 100 T shirts. Well, if you haven’t heard this before, we’ve mentioned this in earlier episodes.  It takes about 700 gallons of water to make one blank T-shirt. We don’t know if you knew that, but now you do, stop making throwaway garments.

if you’re on your way to starting your clothing line, here’s the best advice I think anybody will ever give you, and this is coming from the guy who prints the T shirts. Don’t print 100 T shirts. Here’s why, you can print 10 T shirts, sell them for $25 and lose maybe $5 a shirt in the process. But at least you were able to prove that the artwork you created somebody actually wants to buy. What most of you out there are doing is when you want to come up with this clothing line, you spend all of your money on actually printing the product and you don’t have to. It’s the year 2022. You can actually print as many or few as you want.

People are printing 100 T shirts, $8.00 each. They never sell more than three and end up sitting around with a few hundred dollars of product that no one is ever going to buy. Because the only person who loved that artwork was the entrepreneur who got the artwork made. So if you’re thinking about starting a clothing line, please please, please please, we implore you, work on your artwork. Create something that’s good and beta test.

First prove that people want your stuff. And then get into producing it on grand scales. And if you have any questions about any of this, please feel free to let us know.
