Today we’re going to talk to you about the myth of the $2.50 custom printed T-shirts. 

We don’t know where this started but if you think that you can get $2.50 custom printed T-shirts, you can’t. For 99% of the people out there, you can’t.

First, we’re going to go over what scenarios you can. And then we’re going to go over why 99% of the scenarios you just absolutely can’t. Here we go number one, here are the ways that you get to a  2.50 custom printed shirt.

You’re only printing on one side, probably the left chest. You’re doing thousands and thousands of units where you can buy volume T-shirts. You buy so much volume, that even after you add ink and labor, you could stay under $2.50.

When we say volume we mean, thousands and tens of thousands on a regular basis. To get the price of the t-shirt so low, you will have to commit to volume and consistency for a long period of time.  To thousands of units, probably monthly, quarterly, annually, whatever it may be for a very long period of time for someone to even decide to take on work and liability like that. 

Those are the scenarios in which you could probably get to a $2.50 shirt, but that 1% exists usually with corporations. That’s the honest truth. Now here are the reasons why this isn’t possible for 99% of you when you buy a custom T-shirt, it’s custom to you.

.It’s something special in value. But that $2.50 shirt is not of value, not to the person producing it, not even to you. You’re willing to pay $2.50 for it. But you’re going to expect good customer service, and  let’s say you get beyond that good customer service and somebody decides to work for free. And they just do it because they want to and they love the field. You’re talking about a shirt now, so someone’s going to have to go buy one shirt or maybe 100 shirts or 1000 shirt shirts, or buy hundreds of thousands of shirts. So the shirt itself costs like $0.50.

Do you even know what a $0.50 shirt feels like? And I’m talking about if you’re ordering lots of volume. Are you going to want to wear that $2.50 shirt? So maybe you can physically And they found you a cheap shirt and they took all of your artwork and put it on there. You didn’t care about the customer service or turn around time. Or what the T-shirt looked like or what it felt like when you wore it. That’s the only time you’d get a $2.50 shirt. 

That is the myth of a $2.50 shirt. We are based in California and we’ve done the numbers. We’ve actually tried various different price points and it seems like. The price point for no minimum custom T-shirts is $13.99 for one side.
